AC Not Cooling? Try These 3 Quick Fixes First

If your air conditioner is running but not cooling your home, do not panic. There are a few simple things you can check before calling an HVAC professional.

1. Check the Thermostat Settings

Make sure your thermostat is set to cool and that the temperature is set lower than your current room temp.

2. Inspect the Air Filter

A dirty air filter can block airflow, causing the system to overheat or freeze up. Replace it if it looks dirty.

3. Look at the Outdoor Unit

Head outside and check the condenser unit. Clear away any debris like leaves, weeds, or dirt that might block airflow.

If you have tried all of the above and your AC still is not cooling, it may be a bigger issue. That is when it is time to call HVA Climate Control.
